Austin Rat Control & Removal

About Rats: The rats in Texas are Roof Rats (rattus rattus). They commonly enter homes and attics, and can be heard at night scampering across the ceiling or up and down the walls. They are common disease vectors, and as rodents, they pose a threat with their chewing. Chewing on electrical wires can create a fire hazard. The only way to solve a rat problem is by finding and sealing all points of entry shut. Never use poison for rat control! Only creates a bigger problem!

Nuisance Concerns: Mostly the spread of disease and the problems with their waste, the noise they make, and the danger of chewing on electrical wires.
Rats are a common nuisance animal in central Texas. In Austin and Travis County, rats have become a particularly common problem, as they have invaded many homes in the area. Austin Rat Control Emails:

Dear A Wildlife Pro of Austin TX, I have a rats-in-my-attic problem and read all sorts of online discussions, and found your article more informative and educational. But it's your fireplace rat poem that prompted me to write to you -- you're an interesting person! I'm writing to ask a question: the repeater trap you mentions looks great, but where can I find one? I have online information about those traps of different brands (Tomahawk, Safeguard, Havahart, etc.) but one of them are clearly indicated as repeater trap. Could you please kindly give me more information? By the way, do you have any rat remover to recommend in the Austin Texas area? Many thanks! Best regards, Robin

Dear Austin rat exterminator, I am writing this note to get some information from you. I am currently experiencing some noise in my attic. I am constantly hearing running around of a rat or mice in my attic. I hear the spatter of feet on my ceiling and it is so annoying and embarrassing when you company over and hear the noise. Their first thought is she has rats. I know its a rat because I have seen it through the wire mesh on the ceiling of my porch. I wanted to know if you guys could come out and capture the animal and if so what kind of fee do you all charge. You can reach me at this email address or call me. Sincerely, Ms. Stacy

I am looking to move into a house that has rats living in the walls. I was thinking if we used to one way door you talked about on your website that would work well but would it help to mount a couple large bird type houses in a couple of the many trees on the property to keep them from creating a new entrance point into the house? Rats don't bother me as long as they are not in my walls. There is no attic in this house so no easy access to a nest site. And I don't know if there are babies or not so when would be the best time for this process? we are in Austin TX if that helps determine potential breeding times or species. Thanks, Miranda I am needing a contact number or a call back in reference to a company that you have linked to this website. I am EXTREMELY impressed with what I have seen on your site and how you handle the problem that we are having in our attic. I am wanting a local company to do that for me. I have tried on numerous occasions to contact a different local company and they aren't even giving me the common courtesy of a call back. I made my first call to them on Friday, March 12th and call a few times since then. My small rat problem is going to turn larger if I can't get good help soon! My name is Jennifer. Again, would you PLEASE give me a number to call or call me at the above number. Thank you, Jennifer
